Join us in kicking off our 2023 season with a member reception of One Object, Many Stories: Esherick’s Music Stand, on view in the Visitor Center beginning March 2nd. This member-exclusive preview will include special access to the 1956 Workshop and a chance to explore the installation along with a selection of additional items related to the Rubinsons. Come chat with WEM Curator Emily Zilber and help us kick off an exciting year of programs!
Featuring the prototype music stand created for Esherick’s friend and client Rose Rubinson, One Object, Many Stories: Esherick’s Music Stand takes a deep dive into this well known sculptural furniture form. The installation celebrates the myriad stories a single object can tell, spanning from the Rubinson’s friendship and patronage to the music stand’s display on an international stage, and everything in between. The generosity of Geoffrey Berwind, grandson of Nat and Rose and a member of the Museum’s Board of Directors, has made this display in the Visitor Center possible.
This event is free and exclusive to members. (Thank you for being a part of our community!) We just ask that you register below and let us know you’re coming!
