Throughout 2023, the Wharton Esherick Museum has celebrated the art of storytelling. This special tour focuses on a myriad of stories drawn from WEM’s oral history collection, the accounts of Esherick himself, and the people who knew him. Experience Esherick, his artworks, and the humorous, somber, poetic, and often joyous stories they tell through a tour as rich and multi-dimensional as the artist himself. These stories will provide us with warmth and a sense of community on the cold, dark day that is the Winter Solstice!

Join us to wrap up this year of tales with Geoffrey Berwind and WEM’s Holly Gore. Geoffrey Berwind is the grandson of Wharton Esherick patrons as well as co-creator and director of Once Upon a Nation storytelling program in historic Philadelphia.

Tours will be offered at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 2:30 pm and run roughly one hour.
Hot drinks will be served in the visitors center before and after the tour.
