Join us on Tuesday, June 3rd at noon for a conversation about the bronze powders Esherick used to gilt his hand-carved frames and early sculpture in plaster! The Wharton Esherick Museum is fortunate to steward many of the gilded frames the artist made for his paintings in the early 1920s. In this talk, we’ll be covering some of the work Esherick coated in bronze powders, as well as the original powders themselves, the tools he used to work with them, and the recipes for the various tones and hues that were written down for posterity.

This is a free online event; advance reservations are required. There will be time for Q&A at the end of the conversation. Please register below to receive instructions on how to join us! If able, please consider a $5 donation to support our ongoing programs. Donate HERE.
