Featured Artist

Colin Pezzano
Colin Pezzano is a woodworker and craft artist based in South Philadelphia. His practice is defined by utilizing digital and hand processes to pass along humor, pathos, and memory into his chosen materials.
Colinโs work was featured in both Telling Tales: WEMโs 29th Annual Juried Woodworking Exhibition and our 2022 Home as Stage exhibition. For the latter, personal and everyday objects recreated in wood by Pezzano were installed on Esherickโs dining room table and brought the artistโs studio practice in dialogue with Esherickโs own habits of making.
Like Esherick, Pezzanoโs artwork includes both woodworking and printmaking. In addition to items like his candlestick holders โ which would add a little drama to any festive dinner table โ Pezzanoโs woodcut prints are also featured in the WEM Store in Soma, a graphic novel told in 45 woodcuts, as well as one-of-a-kind prints of Esherickโs 1956 Workshop.
