Join us on Tuesday, March 31st at 1:30PM (adjusted from our usual noon time) for a conversation with WEM’s 2025 Artist-in-Residence Kelly Cobb. Kelly will be highlighting some of the exciting ways her 2025 residency project, Working at a Joyous Creative Thing: Weaving, Making, and Material Culture in Letty Esherick’s Legacy continues. We’ll be talking about Letty’s entrepreneurship, the difficulties she faced claiming artistship for herself, and ways that an afterlife of Kelly’s residency is aiming to repair this issue! Kelly will also be sharing about this exciting afterlife: a collaboration with fashion designer Abby Lutz to put Letty-inspired textiles into production with Family Heirloom Weavers that will be available for pre-order at WEM in May (with more details on this event forthcoming).
